a little thot...
i attempted to teach lyon chinese for e first time yesterday thru e past 9mths ive been his tutor.
his command of the language kinda mortified me a lil...
hmmz. i guess i had that reaction coz he's been such a bright student in math all along...n his eng's pretty decent to boot cept for e spelling bit.
there came a split second i literally panicked coz he couldnt recognise simple essential words.In that moment, i came close to raising my voice n showing him my worry when i looked at his very lost expression n realised that it really wouldnt do him good if he knew wad was on my mind.
i recomposed myself, regained control and went thru with him word by word after tt.
i dun think it was effective, coz i dun think e lil one can rem so many words but i guess wad i'd try to tell him over e next 2lessons b4 his exam is that even if he does not recognise most of e words, he wud haf to make clever guesses at the answers.
SIGH.
it doesnt help that his tutor had been the last 25 in sec sch for e subject, doing the subject thrice n still getting not get a distinction. *YES I GOT A B3 all 3 times*n i rem how my PSLE teacher told my mum that if the class were divided into A B & C for chinese, i'll belong to cat C. imagine what that cud haf done to my small fragile heart..hahaha.yes im exaggerating. but wa liew.i rem i cried in the bathroom that day after hearing wad he said. but i did learn a mighty lesson.
teachers' etiquette 1. neva put ur students down, or at least not in front of em.
wadeva it is...i m still worried for the lil one. i hope his chinese isnt really that bad n he was juz pretending so that i could spoonfeed him yest.
i really cannot imagine wad will happen if he wasnt pretending yest.
